Committed to NCAA Division I Northern Illinois University before taking the mound for Morton College. Transfer from Parkland where Gutierrez struck out 51 in 29.1 innings, going 3-3 with a save in 15 appearances. Fanned 10 in a four-inning stint vs. Sauk Valley. Helped Nazareth to Class 3A state championship in 2022 where Gutierrez turned in a complete-game performance in Roadrunners’ 16-3 semifinal victory over Crystal Lake South.
