Morton College landed three players on the all-Region 4 men's soccer team highlighted by a pair of First Teamers in sophomore forward
Ricardo Cruz and freshman defender
Eneas Laureys. Both are up for consideration as NJCAA All-America.
Cruz finished his career at Morton College with 25 goals, 10 assists and 60 points. He notched the game-winner in overtime against Elgin last year that sent the Panthers to the NJCAA Division II national tournament.

During an eight-game stretch this season from September 23rd to October 17th, Cruz had a point in all but one match. He went off for 14 goals and 5 assists as the Panthers won 6 of 8 matches. He was Morton College's second-leading scorer in 2024 and top scorer in 2025.
His 15 goals this year were the third most in Region 4 and 37 points tied for second.
Laureys anchored a defense that pitched three shutouts.
Sophomore midfielder
Marcos Talavera received all-Region 4 Second Team honors. He appeared in 41 games in his two seasons at Morton College.
Men's basketball
High-flying Milwaukee Area Tech visits Morton College at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 22nd. The eighth-ranked Stormers (6-1) are averaging an NJCAA Division II fourth-best 108.9 points per game and have won their last six since losing their opener to Iowa Central.
MATC's put up some jaw-dropping numbers their last four games with 131 vs. Elgin, 118 vs. Joliet, 115 vs. Lake County and 113 vs. Mid-Michigan.
Morton College (2-3) used a mix of the old and new to secure a 78-62 win over Marian Ancilla in the Panthers' home opener November 15th. It was Morton College's first win over Ancilla in program history.
Sophomores
Kevin Cathey Jr. (13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists) and
Jordan Brooks (12 points, 6 rebounds) and freshmen
Zion Young (13 points, 12 rebounds) and
Javerion Banks (17 points, all in the second half) led the way.
It was Young's first collegiate double-double, while Cathey scored his 400th career point at Morton College. Brooks' two three-pointers gave him 75 for his two years at 38th and Central.
Women's basketball
Morton College had a strong opening and closing quarter in a 60-48 loss to Governors State's varsity reserve November 15th and were tied midway through the second stanza before Truman pulled away for a 66-35 decision three days later.
Charity Love (9 rebounds) and
Isabel Rodriguez-Valencia led the way with 8 points apiece against Truman. Niema Adams pulled down 14 rebounds to go along with 6 points, while
Alexandria O'Hara had 10 rebounds.
The Panthers (1-5) matched a season-best with three players hitting double figures in scoring against Governors State. Adams (15 points, 12 rebounds) and Love (13 points, 12 rebounds) had double doubles, while
Catrina Sanders put up 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Panthers host MATC at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 22nd.

Volleyball – Parkland, Cowley and Kansas City Kansas all in the quarterfinals. Sauk Valley and St. Clair in consolation round.
Men's soccer – St. Clair goes 0-2 in pool play.
