MC success story: Four teams & 30 Panther student-athletes honored by NJCAA for academic success

Morton College's athletic program produced champions on the playing field and in the classroom for 2025-26 with a College record four teams and 30 individual Panther student-athletes honored by the NJCAA for academic success.

Named NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year were Morton College's baseball, volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer programs. Each program needed a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for consideration.
 
It is the third straight season for the baseball program to receive this honor from the NJCAA.
 
These four programs reached new heights in athletics with baseball and volleyball producing Skyway Conference championships. Baseball, volleyball and women's soccer set Morton College records for most wins in a single season, while men's soccer produced its 22nd straight winning season and 17th consecutive campaign with double-digit victories.
 
Two Panthers honored as NJCAA All-Academic student-athletes also earned NJCAA All-America accolades in volleyball's Nina Jasiecka and baseball's Hayden Mosley. Both have moved on to NCAA Division I programs with Jasiecka at Fairleigh Dickinson and Mosley at Richmond.

Eleven Panthers earned NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors, which go those with a GPA of 4.0. Seven received Second Team accolades, where a GPA between 3.8 and 3.99 is needed. Twelve Panthers landed on the Third Team, where a GPA between 3.6 and 3.79 is required.

Panthers on the Third Team include:

"We are extremely proud of the four teams and 30 student-athletes recognized by the NJCAA for academic success," Morton College athletic director Lee Milano said.
