Here is a look at the action to come this week for Morton College.
Volleyball
To say this may be the biggest week in the regular season history for Morton College's 12-0 volleyball team isn't stretching the truth.
The Panthers' march toward their first conference championship since 1981 ends with three straight road contests, starting Wednesday (September 17th) at McHenry. Morton College sits on top of the Skyway Conference standings at 3-0.
The week gets even bigger when the Panthers face the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in NJCAA Division II during a four-game tournament Friday (September 19th) and Saturday (September 20th) in Kansas City.
The Panthers face No. 2 Kansas City Kansas City Friday and No. 1 Cowley Saturday in back-to-back matches. Cowley is the two-time defending NJCAA Division II national champion and is riding a 90-game win streak. Kansas City Kansas City is 10-0.
The two other teams the Panthers encounter are 10-2 Allen and 13-6 Labette.
Men's soccer
Morton College's chances for a Skyway Conference crown may have officially ended after a 4-1 loss at Moraine Valley, but the 0-3-0 Panthers still have a say in the race.
Oakton, the lone unbeaten team at 3-0-0, rides into Cicero for a 4 p.m. match Tuesday (September 16th).
The Panthers have another home men's/women's double dip against Bryant & Stratton Saturday (September 20th). The women's match starts at 2 p.m., followed by the men at 4.
Women's soccer
Plenty of chances to catch Morton College in action with two home matches this week – Moraine Valley at 4 p.m. Wednesday (September 17th) and Bryant & Stratton at 2 p.m. Saturday (September 20th).
Women's cross country
The Panthers compete at Wheaton College's Gil Dodds Invitational at 10 a.m. Saturday (September 20th). The 6-kilometer race will be run at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville.
