Panthers name Denny assistant women's volleyball coach

Morton College announced the hiring of Colin Denny as assistant women's volleyball coach.

Denny played four years of volleyball at Brother Rice High School where he played middle blocker and earned all-Chicago Catholic League Blue Division honors in helping the Crusaders to a co-championship as a senior in 2011.

He continued his career playing club volleyball at Purdue University where he earned a degree in civil engineering. Denny is currently a project manager in the construction industry.

Denny currently coaches the Chicago Elite Volleyball Club's girls 15U and boys 18U teams.

The Panthers also welcome back Alyssa Serewicz, who starts her third year at Morton College as an assistant women's volleyball coach.

Serewicz was an all-Skyway Second Team at Elgin Community College in 2013 and '14, racking up over 1,000 career digs. She transferred to Concordia University Chicago and played two seasons for the Cougars as a defensive specialist.

Serewicz played three years of volleyball at St. Charles North High School. She earned her bachelor's in Sports and Fitness at Concordia and then a master's degree in school counseling also from Concordia. She is a school counselor at St. Patrick Catholic School in St. Charles.

She also has coaching experience with Club Fusion out of Batavia.

The Panthers open the 2021 season August 21 and 22 at the McHenry Invitational in Rockford under the direction of first-year head coach Steve Dowjotas.
