Morton College advanced to the Region IV women's soccer semifinals for the first time since 2019 when the fifth-seeded Panthers bested fourth-seed Madison 1-0 October 29th in Madison, WI.
The Panthers (7-6-1) entered the postseason with three losses and a tie in their last four matches, but turned things around in time for the playoffs by making a first-half goal by
Magdalena Bigdon stand to defeat Madison.
Morton College moves on to face 16th ranked and top-seeded Rock Valley at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (November 1st). The match will be played at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two in Rockford.Â
The Eagles (14-2-3) featured two of the nation's leading scorer in freshmen Anika Elgin and Jocelyn Harms. Elgin leads the country in scorer with 36 goals, 12 assists and 84 points, while Harms is fifth with 67 points on 25 goals and 17 assists.
